Secdea Beach Resort

What is best way to celebrate our 2nd anniversary, but at the newest Beach Resort of Island Garden City of Samal.

Its been months of preparation before the big day, choosing which resort to reserved. Then Bong and I decided we will go for Secdea Beach Resort. The resort don't allow walk-in guests. So, you need to have a reservation. Since we are staying overnight, I made a reservation to their cheapest cottage which is 1,700 pesos (as of July 2013) exclusive of tax. They need a 50% downpayment for the reservation through BDO.

1 problem we had was: how to get there, because we don't have our own vehicle. The resort is accessible by a "habal-habal", but knowing Samal, the road going to different resorts is rough. So, NO "habal-habal" for us. But I saw staff going in and out of the resort riding the vehicle.

I called the resort's receptionist regarding the transportation problem; she helped me gladly. The resort had a van for rent for 1,000/way good for 4 pax. Problem solved!

Going there from Davao, you can either ride a BUS to Babak Port worth 35 pesos (as of 2013). Or a barge from Sasa port to Babak worth 10 pesos (as of 2013).

We arrived at Babak port around 1pm, and driver of the van waited for us since 12NN. Sorry manong driver, traffic kasi papuntang Sasa.

Then off we go. It was about 20mins travel time from Babak Port. And sure enough the road was rough.

Before entering the resort you need to pay an environmental fee of 20 pesos (as of 2013)

My rating for our room is 4.5. I gave this rate because I have a problem with the toilet. Although its big and nice, but its unclean. I hope the management will do something about this. Overall the room was nice.

At the back of our cottage is the new developed, and still developing mangrove walk of the resort.

As of 2013, the Secdea is still under maintenance. A lot construction and rehabilitation (beach) was being done.

Wedding is usally being held here.

They also have a small kiosk with hamrock and different kinds of chairs. And its in the middle of the sea.

The beach.

The resort's beach sand is white and powdery. And the beach water is color torquoise. Who wouldn't want to take a deep?

And of course, the resort's own infinity pool.

Their pool is only 4 or 5 feet deep (as far as I can remember). So, NO DIVING. At the side of the pool is a bar; on its back is tge beach resort's restuarant.

The pool time can be extended until 10pm
Or, napagbigyan lang kmi, dahil kami lang ang guest nung araw na yon hehe

The resort doesn't just offer swimming activity, but they also have an outdoor activity for guests with adventurous personality.

They have wall climbing, rappeling, tree deck, lagoon area for fishing and ball games: basketball and tennis.

The resort also offer a golf cart with a fee, if you don't want walk when having your tour. And a bicycle for rent.

*** I forgot the fee of each activity and rentals, It would be a lot better if you just ask the resort's staff.

After our tour, we went back to our room to preprare for our 2nd anniversary dinner. ♡♡♡

Since it is Wednesday, we have the whole resort Exlusive (daw) hehehe.. lucky us. :]

While preparing, the waiter of the restaurant called us to get our orders, because the kitchen will close at 7pm.

Our dinner.

The food was delicious and I love their fruit shakes. The waiters were very accommodating. Rating: I will give them 5.

And while we are eating, a phug (dog) was watching over me. And his name is king Chester. I love and I miss this dog.  And they also have lavador (dog) black dog.

With Chester

We had our night swimming until 10pm (as requested). Then we called it a night.

As early as 8am we had our breakfast outside of the restaurant (as requested again, lol). The breakfast was included in our overnight stay.

Breakfast time

What better way to start the day but by eating a healthy breakfast with my yabz. ♡♡♡

While exploring the beach after eating our breakfast, the resort helicopter arrived.

Before 12NN the resort van picked us up and dropped us off at Babak Port to Sasa port, and this time the fare was 20 pesos.

Our Secdea experienced was unforgettable. Not only because we had the resort all by ourselves but because the hotel staff were very accommodating. We had a homey experience at the resort. I am sure we will visit soon

Thank you, Secdea.
